COVID-19 Update

Updated: May 21, 2021 at 8:20 AM

As we continue to read and hear recommendations from the CDC and other medical professionals regarding precautionary measures needed in light of the ongoing Covid 19 pandemic, we continue to modify our safety precautions as well. Please note that if you are not comfortable gathering in person for worship, our online services continue to be available to you through Facebook, Vimeo and on our website.

The majority of our church members are eligible to receive a Covid 19 vaccaination now if they choose. However, it is important to remember that our children do not have that option at this time. As a body of believers, we value each and every individual in our congregation, and our children are an important part of our community. As such, we desire to continue to do all that we can to protect them.

*Per the CDC, those who have not been fully vaccinated are still encouraged to wear a mask within our facilities. We will have masks available for anyone who needs them.

*To help ensure the safety of our children, we ask that those who are unvaccinated wear masks when in our children’s spaces and when you are around our children.

*Per the CDC, those who have been fully vaccinated can be in our facilities without masks. Social distancing is encouraged in our large group gatherings.

*We will continue to place our offering envelopes in the plates that are located at each entrance of the sanctuary. Online giving is also recommended and encouraged.

We are thankful for the opportunities we have to gather for worship each week, whether in-person or online. We encourage you to continue to be active in the life of your church as we seek to serve our Lord and Savior and the community he has placed around us.

The Online Worship service will continue to be available through our multiple media options. These services can be found on our Facebook page (Live at 9am and 11am), Vimeo, or on the “Watch” or “Online Worship pages of this website (these will be posted later in the day on Sundays). Please be sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram (@cbcfountaincity) and join our private “Central Baptist Church Fountain City” group to see updates or other opportunities. If you are not ready to join us in person, we invite you to continue joining us online each week.

The church office is open for regular business hours: Monday-Thursday 8am-5pm (closed for lunch from 12-1pm). If you can accomplish something by phone or email, please do so. We also encourage you to give online or mail your offerings into the office instead of stopping by in person.

The Family Life Center is open with a new schedule and with a new rotation of classes. Please the Wellness Page of this website for full details. You can also call the FLC office at (865) 688-1206 with questions or to reserve the weight room for individual use.

The Fountain City Ministry Center continues to provide service to patrons; however, they have shifted to a drive thru model to respect hygiene. If you or someone you know is in need, please visit their website for the schedule: fcministry.org.

Childcare at the Early Childhood Center (ECC) and the School Age Program (SAP) has returned to caring for all students as space allows. Classes are limited to 10 to maintain a healthy level of separation and distancing, for the protection of children, families, and those helping to serve us during the pandemic.

These are challenging times, but not hopeless times, because we serve the risen Christ who makes all things new–even our efforts at ministering to our community in their need. We look forward to being the hands and feet of Christ together as we embrace the days and opportunities before us.

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”  -Romans 15:13
