missions

Our mission efforts take our church members throughout Knoxville, through Tennessee and the United States, and to different corners of the world. Many of our mission efforts are hosted individually by different Sunday School Classes, focused on seasonally, or pop up as need arises. With that in mind, THIS is the place to stay up to date with all that is going on! Take a look below to see where you’d like to get plugged in. If you’d like to know more about the mission work that is ongoing here at Central Baptist, please contact us below.

SERVE GROUPS

Women On Mission
This is our women’s mission group. We meet monthly to hear from missionaries, support different mission work, and contribute to the work. Join us for discussion and fellowship!
hearts and hands
Knitting Group
Join a group of our senior adult ladies as they knit hats weekly to be given out to babies and children at Christmas. Visitors can also come for general knitting information or help, and for fellowship while working together.
Hospital Visitation
During the COVID-19 time period especially, the hospital experience can be a lonely one. This team of volunteers will be contacted by church staff with in-patient information of members and close family to call them by phone to let them know we are praying for them and to get updates.
klf ramp ministry
Join a group of our men who work on projects throughout the year building handicap ramps and repairing decks for low income families/individuals in the Knoxville community. Contact us to see when the next project is scheduled!
fountain city ministry center
The Fountain City Ministry Center (FCMC) is a cooperative effort of Fountain City area churches who provide financial support, volunteers, and donations. The mission is to glorify God and transform lives through helping Knox County residents in need return to a more self-sustaining lifestyle. The FCMC serves individuals on a bi-weekly schedule. Contact us to see how you might get involved.
Deacon-led prayer team
Join our deacons monthly as they pray for our ministers, ministries, and community. The team meets every first Sunday of the month at 8:50 AM in the Prayer Room (the center room on the side of the Chapel).
Refugee ministry
Our church sponsors two families in partnership with Bridge Refugee Ministries. This work takes a number of hands to help with house furniture and basic necessities, but also with daily shopping, appointment, and family needs. The team works regularly to care for our families.
