For Parents Only

Hey Parents!!!
We're really on your side. You have infinitely more influence on your child
than we could ever have. And we want to help you do the best job you
can in raising your own teenager. To help with that awesome
responsibility, we have the best group of adult leaders you'll find
anywhere. Our leaders are passionate about working with teenagers, and
have found that balance between being a friend and being a strong positive
role model in our teen's lives. We've even had visiting youth remark
that they have more fun around the leaders than they do the other youth.
So that's something you can trust about the Youth Ministry at Central
Baptist. A ministry that genuinely cares for their youth.

So.... this page is just for you. The latest in info on all of the
activities going on in our Youth Ministry. We also want you to know
that you are invited to attend
"CATALYST",(our
alternative worship service that meets every Sunday at 10:30am in our FLC
"Worship Center"). It's unlike any church service you've ever
attended. And come hang out at
L.I.F.E.
also. You just might like what you see!!
--Check out the specific info on those pages.--

In addition, there are literally dozens of opportunities for you to become
involved in a very active and rewarding youth ministry. We have a lot
of parents and other adults who are very committed to the Youth Ministry.
They do this because of their desire to make a difference in young people's
lives, and because it's so personally fulfilling. Honestly, the adults who
help out receive much more than they are asked to give.
Youth Council
- This is the planning and implementing arm of the youth ministry at Central
Baptist. Everything this youth ministry does is born and grows out of
this team of youth and adults. We just need people who love teens,
have a passion for God, and want to be an integral part of a very active
youth ministry. They meet every third Sunday night at 7:30.
Every year we spend a weekend in April evaluating and planning for the
future.
Worship Planning Team
- Do you have music, fine arts, technical skills? A strong creative
streak? An understanding of what moves and inspires people? Or
maybe you're just good at making people feel welcome. Our worship
planning team plans, implements, and evaluates our non-traditional worship
service. This is a very unique opportunity to participate in an
extremely important aspect of our ministry. Right now this group meets
on a random schedule. We will be settling down to a routine soon. We
also look for singers and musicians to help lead this worship service.
Sunday
Morning Bible Study Leader - This is an excellent
opportunity to spend some quality time with our core youth in leading Bible
Study, helping coordinate social events, and using some administrative
skills.
L.I.F.E. Leader - Just check out the L.I.F.E. page for a brief look at what L.I.F.E. is all about. It is the cornerstone of our ministry. There are
dozens of opportunities for you to use a variety of gifts in a very
meaningful ministry.
You can: teach, lead small groups, organize games, help plan
special activities, serve
snacks and drinks, play a musical instrument, serve as an assistant in a
specific
area, or just hang out with the youth.
If you can do anything we can use you in
L.I.F.E.!!
(We are also beginning a
"Ministry of Encouragement". There are a lot of
parents and adults who want to help out with
L.I.F.E. but aren't quite ready to be
thrown in with the youth. We have a group of parents who fill out
birthday cards and prayer request cards while the youth are in Bible Study
and send these youth little personal notes. It's a powerful and
meaningful way to let these youth know that we really do care. If you
are interested in helping out with this ministry then e-mail me at
kbusman@cbcfc.org or show up on Wednesday nights at the FLC and ask for
Marie.)
Event or Trip Chaperone
- We're always looking for
people to help us with the regular youth activities. You can help with
lock-ins, hayrides, fellowships, and go with us on overnight trips like
weekend retreats, white water rafting, snow skiing, and of course
Centrifuge, (our annual summer camp to the beach).
Just contact the youth office, if you
have any interest in becoming a part of this life-changing ministry.
We promise we won't throw you in too quickly, and you'll find after a short
period of time you find yourself in one of the most rewarding things you've
ever done..... we promise!!!
